The current green energy source!….Green fuel? This is the big “ECO” question? Answer…Wood Burning Stoves are carbon neutral. How can that be? Well… wood is the original carbon neutral fuel; carbon dioxide is released when it’s burnt, at a rate equal to the amount stored by the tree when it was growing.

What is the difference between Wood only or Multi fuel?

Wood Only stoves -Logs are best burnt on a “Flat Bed“ of ash, with air for combustion coming from above.

Multi Fuel stoves -Will take wood, coal or other smokeless fuels. These are best burnt on a “Grate”  with air entering from beneath the fire and the cinders dropping into an ashpan below.

Why a Wood Burning or Multi Fuel Stove?

There are many advantages to owning an efficient stove; they provide the cheapest per Kw (Kilowatt) of energy at just 5p per KW (Figures obtained from the solid Fuel Institute 2011), you can still have heat at all times of power loss, durning those long and hard winters and of course they make a beautiful centrepiece in your room.

A typical open fire would be about 25% efficient, where a modern stove could be as much as 80% efficient!

All our work comes signed off with a HETAS Certificate of Compliance.  This ‘self certification’  takes the place of a Local Authority Building Notice which could can cost  you a significant amount of money.

“Safety Notice” It is important to know that a wrongly installed wood-burning stove can be dangerous, you may also find out that your insurance company will not pay out. Always make sure your installer is qualified!
